Last Saturday we went to a local mineral/fossil/rock show at the Kennedy Gold Mine in Jackson, CA. It was a very small show with only about 8 dealers. There is a lady that brings face cut pieces that are about 2 to 4 lbs each. I spied a chunk of Maury Mountain Moss Agate (among other things) that was about 3lbs and had this pattern on the face of the cut. I didn't hesitate to glom on to it really quickly. It was $4. I slabbed this one right away. I finished the cab this afternoon. It is one of the best patterns that I have seen in this material. It is 2-1/2" high. Bob

It really is intriguing! It almost looks like it is running in swirls--

I like the way you not only show us your amazing cabs, but also tell us the story of each of them. Thank you.

I'm glad that you glom onto it cause it's a really nice cab and you must still have a few more beauties to come also. $4 must have been a good price as I got a nice box of thundereggs for $4 at a gem show in Bendigo.

That is a beauty. I have some Maury Mtn I need to cut but it's all a dark green. Maybe on the inside it will look better.

This piece of rough was mostly green on the outside as is typical of this material. As I'm slabbing it the green has a lot of fractures and porosity but the interior is very solid,. Bob

Some very funky Maury Mountain moss, very cool looking. Wish more looked like that.

Wow that a great looking cab and a very unusual pattern for that material! I went to that little show one time. Like you've said, not a lot of dealers but I found some really nice slabs and rough the time I went. Plus, if I'm remembering right, there was an excellent rib joint in town....Mel

Mel, I'm not sure about the rib joint but I do like Mel and Fayes Diner. Bob
