0Subj: Objama's "inherited deficit"
> > *Due to the lack of teaching critical thinking in our schools, people will believe almost anything. * > > > > *The Washington Post babbled again today about Obama inheriting a huge deficit from Bush. Amazingly enough,..... a lot of people swallow this nonsense. So once more, a short civics lesson. * > > > > > > *Budgets do not come from the White House. They come from Congress, and the party that controlled Congress since January 2007 is the Democratic Party.* > > > > > > > > *They controlled the budget process for FY 2008 and FY 2009, as well as FY 2010 and FY 2011. In that first year, they had to contend with George Bush, which caused them to compromise on spending, when Bush somewhat belatedly got tough on spending increases.* > > > > > > *For FY 2009 though, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid bypassed George Bush entirely, passing continuing resolutions to keep government running until Barack Obama could take office. At that time, they passed a massive omnibus spending bill to complete the FY 2009 budgets. * > > > > > > *And where was Barack Obama during this time? He was a member of that very Congress that passed all of these massive spending bills, and he signed the omnibus bill as President to complete FY 2009. Let's remember what the deficits looked like during that period: (below)* > > > > * > > If the Democrats inherited any deficit, it was the FY 2007 deficit, the last of the Republican budgets. That deficit was the lowest in five years, and the fourth straight decline in deficit spending. After that, Democrats in Congress took control of spending, and that includes Barack Obama, who voted for the budgets. If Obama inherited anything, he inherited it from himself.* > > > > > > *In a nutshell, what Obama is saying is I inherited a deficit that I voted for and then I voted to expand that deficit four-fold since January 20th.* > > > > > > *There is no way this will be widely publicized, unless each of us sends it on! This is your chance to make a difference.*

The deficits didn't start in 2007, they began when Bush cuts taxes for the wealthiest Americans and made it worse when he went to war against people that neither attacked us nor posed no threat to the USA.
Obama is guilty of continuing the war in Afghanistan (instead of cutting and running).
Obama is guilty of running deficits to help unemployed Americans.
Obama is guilty of helping Unemployed Americans pay for their Health Care.
Obama is guilty of rescuing the USA and the world from the brink of a Worldwide financial meltdown.
Obama and a Democratic Congress are guilty for having compassion and trying to help those that were hurt by the fiscal policies of the previous administration and the unemployment that ensued

Obama is guilty of trying to turn us into another second rate Socialist country. Just look at the " advisers " he's surrounded himself with. Commies and Socialists, each and every one.

Jake – Some dogs may not hunt. This one is barkin’ up the wrong tree. Bush Tax Cuts, War Costs Do Lasting Harm to Budget OutlookSome commentators blame recent legislation — the stimulus bill and the financial rescues — for today’s record deficits. Yet those costs pale next to other policies enacted since 2001 that have swollen the deficit. Those other policies may be less conspicuous now, because many were enacted years ago and they have long since been absorbed into CBO’s and other organizations’ budget projections.
Just two policies dating from the Bush Administration — tax cuts and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan — accounted for over $500 billion of the deficit in 2009 and will account for almost $7 trillion in deficits in 2009 through 2019*, including the associated debt-service costs. (The prescription drug benefit enacted in 2003 accounts for further substantial increases in deficits and debt, which we are unable to quantify due to data limitations.) These impacts easily dwarf the stimulus and financial rescues. Furthermore, unlike those temporary costs, these inherited policies (especially the tax cuts and the drug benefit) do not fade away as the economy recovers (see Figure 1).
Without the economic downturn and the fiscal policies of the previous Administration, the budget would be roughly in balance over the next decade. www.cbpp.org/cms/index.cfm?fa=view&id=3036* That doesn’t include the doubling of the national debt while he was in office. The damage was done before the Ds took over congress, and if they were out of line those last two years, where was the veto? And if you think Republikans are capable of fixing anything . . . Republicans On Obama Debt Commission Push For Corporate And Capital Gains Tax CutsRepublicans on President Obama's fiscal commission, which is tasked with coming up with ways to reduce the deficit, have privately argued in official meetings that the panel should recommend further corporate and capital gains tax cuts as part of its mandate. The panel has been charged with raising revenues and cutting spending, to bring the federal budget into greater balance. But if Republican members are successful, their advocacy would result in either an unbalanced report, dedicated wholly to spending and benefit cuts -- or to gridlock and, thus, no recommendations at all.
At a tax reform working group meeting last week, Republicans argued against every possible tax increase. According to one source familiar with the deliberations, Republicans were even opposed to eliminating loopholes, exemptions, credits and other so-called "tax expenditures" unless the associated revenue increase could be used to lower capital gains and corporate income rates.bit.ly/dwFPPp

I Guess that means we should agree with the Obama admins. tax and spend policies, with ever growing govt. on the payrole ? We should agree with more and more of Obamas Czars ? We should just sit still like good little boys and girls and twiddle our thumbs, while Obama turns the U.S.A. into the U.S.S.A. ? The first S standing for socialist. Does that mean we should all bow down to our supreme leader for life, Obama ? I think not !!!

No, no, no, and no, Jake, but a grip on reality would be a good start.

I'll bet you're gonna be in DC for that socialist backed rally, aren't you. Do a little research, and see who is really sponsoring those Obama rallies. The rallies are in response to the " grip on reality " that is starting to take hold in this great nation. The socialists and commies are scared by our grip on reality, and the only way they can respond is by holding rallies to try to scare us. It ain't gonna work. We, the real people of this nation, the ones who love it and will fight to the death for it, won't be influenced by these phony socialist rallies.

Let's see, if I get the message right...One point five trillion deficit is only getting us by...well golly we should raise the debt to 10 trillion right now...and put everyone on welfare except the govt. workers...(you know...the can pay the taxes to lower the debt). of course we know the money will be there cause all the illegals are paying in...
Man, I should of voted for Obama years ago...just think he may be coming to your back yard to give his hack speech...by the way the last 2 rally outing they could not even give free tickets away...except in very liberal college town Madison, WI..and those kids won't vote anyway...to much effort...expecting them to vote every two years is a strain...
Yea, lets spend and spend big...go down in flames...drinking Kahlua..
