We are selling one last piece of pink opal on ebay. We hand-picked this piece out of hundreds of pounds of rough in Peru! It has botyroidal and druzy surfaces and great pink color. stuff of this quality can go for $100 or more per lb. at shows! This 10 oz chunk is has the crazy low starting price of just $5 plus shipping. Thanks!

Forgive my ignorance, but I'm pretty uneducated when it comes to this material...wouldn't it be preferable to have a piece without all the vuggy-bytrodial formation and just have nice, solid opal instead? When I look at the piece in the auction, all I can see are all the holes I'd have to work around to get a nice cab. Maybe I'm looking at this the wrong way?

What's so special about that piece ? I see more waste, than good solid usable material.

Some folks like these kinds of formations and enjoy working them into cabs. Pink opal is most often found as thin, flat veins, devoid of these elements, so in that respect this piece is unique.

I love this piece. Is anyone bidding on this? I don't want to bid against another member.
