Flat lap or wheel? How many stages of grinding? Mostly a light touch and practice, practice, practice But sometimes it's just the stone. Dr Joe .

I have never worked the stuff but it looks to me like you did a great job! I think that material is known for undercutting but you still found some beautiful blue flash! Fran

IMHO, The blue flash makes up for the slight undercutting visible in a close up photo. I bet it's barely (if at all) noticible to the naked eye. What a gorgeous piece!

Nice cab Christopher your undercutting looks like its in the material, where its a bit sandy or lighter color is more prone to undercut, but you got nice fire..Bill

Only suggestion I have to undercutting is lighter touch, and final polish with Zam. Zam is a wax based polish, and it does a little undercutting correction when used on a buffing wheel. Again, light touch and patience. Also, instead of a loose diamond paste, maybe a diamond wheel might smooth out that undercutting. Dunno. I usually stop at 14K and then use a very sparse amount of Tin Oxide on moist leather.
Nice stone regardless!

i agree with the above, the stone varies a lot in quality and consistency. it's also messy as crap to work with. but...it IS beautiful when you get it right.
i kinda group this material with Malachite and Seraphinite. soft, messy and drop dead gorgeous if you do it right.
