I was so stressed at work this week, and surrounded by boxes of "stuff" that people have sent me over the past year, most of it untouched. So this evening I said to heck with it and set the cabber up and started playing. Like I do a lot of times, I just completely let my head clear, I wasn't thinking of anything, I just reached into boxes, pulled something out, and tossed it on the flat lap. Not intending to make any cabs, just in the mood to grind and shape and polish. First piece of whimsy ended up being some of the Coaxenite in Amethyst that Mary Ann sent me. OMG that polishes to a mirror finish! I only polished this to 1200 because I'm out of paste right now, but boy did it shine up! This is just a piece of folly, rounded some edges, polished the faces, softened it up but left the pits and grooves to offset that softness. So I have hard and soft, shine and dull all mixed into one. This piece is going to be the center stone in my indoor Zen rock garden.... enjoy... Thank you again Mary Ann!
