OK since some of you are on Facebook, I thought I better tell the whole story here! In Oct or so Tony emails at work and is like let's go to Vegas in January and then maybe to Quartzite, this was following the move in and talking about marriage, and I was like OMG, he wants to get married in Vegas, this is me thinking, because his email struck me as surprising, usually I am the planner, LOL I know we are hooking up with lots of rock friends so I thought OMG he wants to do it when people are close to Vegas, then I saw Vegas is like 4 hours from Quartzite. So all day I am like OMG, he wants to get married in January what about the kids, what about the family, I can't lose enough weight til then to pork into a sexy dress, LOL So that night, I am like OMG are you thinking we are getting married in January, and he is like... um I just want to go to Vegas and Quartzite! LOL So meanwhile, during my workday my wheels were turning, and I started looking at weddings in Vegas, they do seem to know how to throw a wedding! So I break out my old diamond, I tried to hock it but couldn't get enough so the ring went on, 3.7 carats is nothing to leave laying in a drawer, and we planned a wedding , talked to the kids, the family, etc and are planning on Columbus Day Weekend, Oct 2011 at Valley of Fire State park outside of Vegas! So in January our first mission on the trip is to meet at the chapel and make all the arrangements! So there you all have it, the official condensed version. Check out the area: www.valleyoffireweddings.com/So if any of you are close by, you will be more than welcome to help us celebrate! I am thrilled, Tony is truly the best man in the world, he is such a wonderful person on so many levels, my son adores him, and we are excited to start our new life together as husband and wife! Congrats indeed, to both of you. In these times, I wish you health, joy, and much peace. Times are hard indeed. It shall be a challenge, but together you two shall persevere Of all the people who come to my shop that have been married long term, some over 65yrs!!! I mean wow. None of them said it was easy, but all said it was worth it. I wish the two of you blessings. Go for it!

WOW, Congratulations to both of you! And what a marbelous place have you chosen for the ceremony, it's almost as spectacular as Moab (where I was kinda hoping I am gonna witness the proposing scene, but glad things moved a bit slower; moving slow means lasting long ) Adrian

Way to go guys!!! We got married in Vegas as well about ten years ago at the Paris...they do a real nice job!!! We played the slots and came home with more money than we left with...my wife is lucky that way...and she keeps reminding me that I am lucky because I got her....now who can argue with that!!! Congrats to you...you are great people and deserve the best!!!! Larry

Congrats guys! Wishing you a very happy and long relationship. Always remember the vows you take, the promises you make. My wife and I have been married 41 years. It hasn't been easy, but we married each other forever. There will never be anyone else.

Thanks all. Amber's story isn't 100% accurate. We had been talking about getting married but from the day we started talking we wanted the kids involved so there wasn't any chance of us getting married out there on our up coming trip. We are both excited though. I've known that I want to marry her for a long time but I'm a patient person and knew that it would happen when it felt right. Moving in together was a bit test but a very successful one as we are both happier now then when we lived apart. We will post more details after our trip next month.

That is great news...I'm so happy for you two..life is short and sharing makes is sweet.
Being happy is what life is all about...seems simple but it isn't; sharing and caring are what makes life a joy ... can be family or friends but all the more special with one who shares your experiences and feelings. I believe you have found that special experience and feeling..may it last forever.
Hmmm. I just noticed that Tony's version is shorted than your condensed version! How does that happen?

I wish you both the very best!!! I am so happy that you are getting the plans all together but just remember...Vegas can be tempting to just do it! If you start thinking that, just go hunt for rocks, that will help ;D Fran

Fran: Yes sometime that weekend, we are hoping for that Sunday at Sunset and then the kids can fly home Monday with their Grandmas since they are off school on Monday. So we have two places that do the wedding to check out in January, both have things that are a little different so once I give them the 3rd degree we will decide.
