This is the first cab I cut from the material I collected from the famous Paul Pugh claim in the Greenhorn Mountains earlier last year. This material is known for the 6 point asterisms produced in the cut stones. I am still learning how to orient the material to get this effect. In this stone there was an "eye" and my layout was off a little because the "eye" shows up on one side when the light hits it a certain way and only moves a little. It seems as though I got the cutting angle off some. Luckly I have save the gemmiest material for after I gain command of the skill to produce good stars or eyes. I played with the light to try and show what I could. This is what I came up with. If you look very carefully you can see the hint of the eye at the lower portion of the stone along the side in this photo, it is the silvery looking line I added this photo because it showed the polish better

Christopher, that will be so neat when you get the star where you want it, but the cab is beautiful with a great shine.

Great cab. I really would like to see one of those stars when you get it down pat.

The cab is fantastic as is, I can only imagine how much more it must be showing a star!

The cab is a very high domed oval. It may take me a little practice to get the orientation down

Its a very nice cab with or without the star, I have been told to dip the stone in a heavy oil or honey to help with the orientation, but as yet I haven't tried this. Bill
