Hard to tell for sure but some structures appear to be a similar to a vascular plant fossil - a monocot type of plant structure similar to a palm. I could be totally wrong on this one but that's the best I can do with the photo - does there appear to be a bark-like exterior surface similar to a palm? Nice piece - very interesting!

I think it's stromatolite. It looks similar to pieces from Delany's Rim Wyoming.
If it is, I need a few better pictures in the Agate Index (Vol 3) that shows the structure.
