Howdy folks, Had to drive down to Bunkhouse Leather at Bandera, Texas for repairs on a couple of saddles this morning. The saddlery guy said he'd do the repairs while we went over to Tarpley for some delicious burgers at Mac and Ernies. Yum! I had the regular beef burger and my wife had Axis Deer. I don't like venison much but I tasted her burger and it was yummy. Anyway, we wanted to give the guy plenty of time on the saddles so we hit some Glen Rose Formation Cretaceous roadsides for fossils on the way back to Bandera. Fossils everywhere but mainly oysters, clams and such. Picked up a few for my collection and the ranch kids. Good fun. Here are a few pics. I know, kind of boring but I like hunting fossils *L*...Mel Couple of really large bivalves. Some kind of fist sized clam I haven't ID'd or cleaned yet. Another clam and a snail encrusted with worm tubes. This should be cool when cleaned up. New one for my collection, a very pointy clam with huge ears on the hinge of the valves:

Neat fossils Mel. One time I was hunting the river and found some kind of shell in the shale that was about 2 feet long. It was the original shell and had tons of Mother of Pearl. I thought I had something out of this world but when I tried to get it out, it just fell apart. It was only about 1/32 of an inch thick.
