Here's a nice big slab of ocean jasper that I bought at our last rock show. I just couldn't resist. I bought it from Ken Dull (West Coast Mining). I don't have it polished yet, but hope to soon. I won't cab this one. Laying on the table next to a quarter for size reference: Backlit with flash: Backlit without flash: Purdy, ain't it? Garry

Gary, It's 1/4" thick, give or take a mm and like Nate said, it's good and solid. Garry

And they say, "Size doesn't matter". Ya, right! That's an amazing piece. There must be 10 or 12 decent sized cabs hiding in that slice.

It's a beauty!
I was looking after OJ slabs at Munchen rock fair this fall, but they were all priced at an arm and a leg. And they were all at most as half as yours. It's true they were polished, but that meant nothing for me, I wanted them for cabbing. Just curious, how much did you pay for this one?

Adrian, This one was $75. I didn't figure this price was too high since I knew I couldn't ever dig any OJ myself.
Bob, You could make a couple of your nice jumbo cabs out of this piece.

Very nice! I saw slabs like that (good, solid and big!) a few years back at our local show. The guy had about 4 or 5 dozen of them and not a one was priced under $90 a slab. I was so tempted, but didn't want to blow a years worth of rock money on one slab.
