Taking my daughter to school yesterday, had some idiot cut me off then slam on her brakes in front of me. Tried to miss her by jinking to the left, but going downhill on a bend to the right and the back end of the car came whipping around. Smashed into the curb, went airborne on 3 of four tires, hit the grass and up on the driver's side wheels, slid into short barbed wire fence then slammed back onto all fours. Left front tire was hanging over a pond over a 20 foot drop, front and left rear wheels smashed... Today I'm fine, daughter is fine, but I'm sore from head to toe. Car, on the other hand, is not so fine... >1000 hours I've spent on this car, my wife calls her my mistress for all the hours I spent on it... sigh.... glad we're okay, but still.... when it rains, it poors! Just a few photos: The rest you can find here on my facebook account: www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=34618&id=100001448285440

Glad you are ok, at least you didn't go into the pond, that makes for a whole lotta mess and cold.
Hope it stops raining soon...........Tony

Cars are replaceable inanimate objects. Yea you get upset and financially drained- but in the end they come and they go. Life however is forever. I would thank your mighty steed (my sun has a PT- over 150,000 miles and still going strong!) for delivering you safely thru the wreck. Can't ask much more from a car than to keep you alive in those kinds of situations. Don't worry as brighter days are ahead. (I'm not a super religious person- but I honestly believe that God nevers gives us more than we can handle)

We went back to the scene yesterday with the claims adjuster, I didn't mention my thoughts then but boy it was kind of scary. You can see two sets of skid marks up to the curb, then an indication of ONLY ONE TIRE after that! The car hit the curb, jump up and spun, dragging the left rear through the dirt, digging up some of the sidewalk, then slammed down in the grass on the driver's side. If the nose hadn't caught in the barbed wire fence, it would have rolled over into the pond. So, I count myself lucky, but also as this being a sign, a thump on the head, "be more careful, watch what you're doing, slow down...etc."... After all that, only three wheels, the tires, front bumper and the intercooler are damaged???!!!

I'm glad to hear you and your daughter are OK. There are so many distracted drivers on the road, it's a full time just trying to steer clear of them. Add to them the just plain idiots. If I were you, I'd give your PT a few affectionate pats on the hood for doing a good job.

I'm real glad you and your daughter are ok. With the things that you have posted recently, the words love, loyalty and perserverance came to mind. It just seems that no matter what comes your way, you and your family are survivors and thrivers with a good measure of goodness mixed in.
I hope the soreness that you and your daughter are feeling subsides quickly.

Dude, I dont think that flimsy barbed wire stopped you.
No idea what force stopped you , but it wasnt that barbed wire for sure!
Looks like the hand of fate stopped that car to me.............
