Another vote for Palm wood. The cells are just to symetrical. Bone has a wavey wierd inconsitent cell pattern to it. That being said- that is a WONDERFUL chunk of Palm. Cut across the grain the cells will give you a cool orb like design. cut with the grain and you get this elongated tube feel to it. Have Fun!

My opinion is palm wood too. Beautiful specimen and would also give some very cool slabs.

Either bone of Palm tree...Palm tree tends to have the same kind of dots all over...nice one though

Hay Mike!! I got that when i cleaned out the basement of an old rockhound. i got over 2000 lbs. of rock out of there. He collected in the 30's and 40's

Ahhh....was he a jade hunter by chance? Lots of that petrified palm wood southwest of Jeffrey City in the jade fields...good chance that's where it came from....
