I posted this pic already in my rock club thread but I am soooo impressed with this piece that I thought it deserved it's own post since it IS a specimen! My daughter and I went to our first rock club meeting, the activity was mounting specimens. The gentleman hosting the event provided local stones that he hounded for all of the kids and adults to use. I didn't do one, but Brooke, my 10 year old daughter did. She picked out this fantastic piece! (I wish I could have captured the true beauty of it with my camera but.. oh well.) Opalized Quartz from Kalama She's got a good eye for beauty huh? ~Krystee

Wow never seen that before. She does indeed have a good eye. Give her some slabs and templates and let her start figuring out preforms!
