How 'bout black obsidian, or black corundum?

I think the orientation is wrong the opal is east/west the fire is north/south all'nall it may be fighting fire w/ fire
the peridot was happening but I'm lousy at rock combination let me have another beer & i'll get better at this

The opal does not stand out like a darker stone. We did like the Peridot one. Debby & Tom

Guess I'm weird, but I think this one is my favorite of the combinations. I see what Ed means on the orientation, but color/fire combination this one is my favorite definitely.

the green peridot looked the best of all that you have tried. Do you have any very red faceted to see if that works?

Hmmm THis is cool- but a little over the top (too much to look at - the stones are fighting for attention) Something black in there is gonna make it look like a dead spot. THe peridot has been the bast so far. Wonder what a turquoise dot would look like?

I'm not thrilled with it. It seems like the fire doesn't show up in either of them because they are detracting from each other. I'd think maybe a red stone or even a darker piece of fire agate with less fire in it? Just my opinion.

I have placed a ruby and it was too dark, so was an emerald. Amethyst didn't work. I have another peridot on the way. I think that that was the best.

yes! the colors that seem to be best are bright peridot green and probably also would be light blue topaz or aqua marine

Maybe MOP would complement the FO better? Dunno. The opal just doesn't do it for me.... Too much fighting between the stones. How about TV rock?

You will probably think I'm nuts but..... if the color on my monitor is right, what about a tiger eye with the banding accentuating the killer wrap you will be doing with this? The wrap flowing with the tiger eye bands would help frame the fire agate in a "doughnut" shape? ~Krystee
