Very cool. My house is very close to one of the migration routes, and we saw 138 of them at the bird refuge in back in Feb. They are spectacular.

Yes this is so cool. I have been watching them for a while now. Dad really watches and works the nest. It must be close to time because a rabbit is laying to the lower left for the nest and it seems it has not been touched. Dad always brings back corn stalk parts to put on the nest. It has been so addicting. I have the site in the background right now, just waiting for the eggs to hatch. Still Diggin in the Georgia Mud, Frankie

That is really cool, high quality as well, I'm not an avid bird watcher, but I will keep looking to see what's happening. Thanks for sharing.

This is so cute. With Bald Eagles, both parents work hard. Dad & Mom are both very loving. I don't know why they don't put a cam on one of our Southern Bald Eagle nests in the Greater New Orleans area. Maybe it gets too wet and rainy for the optics? They nest in winter, and it would be something different for the rest of the country to look at. I saw a young bird already out of the nest the other day while I was at the Fontainebleau State Park, which is outside eastern Mandeville, on the north shore of the lake, to the north of New Orleans. The parents still had the spark, they were flirting and circling slowly together in the sun. Just beautiful.
By the way, "American Eagle" is just a nickname, because they are the national bird of the U.S. The official English common name is Bald Eagle. We also have Golden Eagles, although it's always a big bird news day in Louisiana when we get one this far southeast! Bet you didn't know we had two Eagle species, didja?

So, I just woke up, came in to have coffee and check on the Eagles and there it was......a tiny little white Eaglet bobbing around. He is so darn cute! After a couple of minutes, mom came and scooted it under her with the other 2 eggs but what a way to wake up this morning! WOW

This is just beautiful. I've been watching them for a while now and I cannot get enough of it all. I have it on all day. You know what amazes me? This guy can rip our heads off with one swipe of its tallons and then turn around and be so extremely gentle with its babies.

Those babies can be mean to each other though. I was watching yesterday morning and the older eaglet was pecking and pulling on the younger one. I was afraid it would kill it for a while because the younger one got really still. Every time it was given food the other would peck and pull at it. I guess they are tough though. Fran

Kinda gives new meaning to pecking order. I have read where the older eaglets can push the younger/ smaller ones right out of the nest.
