Wow! Curious as to what the rough looked like? Was it slabs, cubes, massive? Very nice job

The rough was small stones no particular shape to them broken pieces pulled out of the mine while they were lookin for other stuff. Easy to cut on trim saw. easy to shape but a horrible black mess that stained my hands. It is not all pyrite, just mostly pyrite. Also some Stilbite in there maybe some copper and quartz. The rough piecesare quite pretty on their own. They have a golden rainbow like sheen to them.

What a shine! I firstly thought it's a color change in them, but then I figured out that is your reflection. What did you use for polishing it?

Yep that's me in the middle. There is a little color change towards the top of the first two and on the bottom of the third. another kind of stone sneaked in there.
They shine really easily actually. I shaped them on 80, 100, and 220 grit wheels. no shine yet, just a dull metalic pewter look. Then went to 600 and 800 soft wheels. very smooth at this poing but still kinda dull. Then 1200. Now we got a golden shine. Then to the 3000, 8000 and then the 14000 soft wheels to really make it shine. It stops making a black mess after the 800 wheel.

Nice, Amy! Yeah, what a mess! Been there, done that! But worth it when you get a nice cab out of it!

those turned out pretty nice! I know it's tough to get a good uniform polish on things like pyrite, hematite, ect...they tend to undercut...but yours don't show any sign of that! Very Nice!
