Going through a bunch of boxes of rocks that I "inherited", I came across this big flat thing. I cut it into quarters so I could slab it a bit easier. Here is one of the smaller quarters of it, along with a normal-sized bottle of water. I can tell you that it is harder than the blades on my pocket knife (knife will not scratch it, but it takes the edge off of the blade), it is completely opaque, and also when I cut a slab, it will invariably separate at the whitish line through the middle. Other than that, I have no idea what it is. Here are the shots of the outside of the rock: And here are the 2 cut edges of this piece: I haven't seen anything similar in the agate index files (maybe because it's not agate?) nor have I seen another rock that's similar. If someone can put a name on it, I would appreciate it. Thanks, Tom

From the pictures aS they appear on my phone it looks to be a jasper. Possibly a jasperized pet wood. The outside of the rock screams pet wood. I'm sure others will have a better idea
