Its segmented looking and has some type of whitish stone or something glinting at the round part at the end of it. I will look at it with my loupe when I get home and see what it is but its pretty cool looking. Any ideas on what it could be? Preston Attachments:

OK whatever is in the top of it is definatly a gemstone kinda looks like opal but its so small its hard to tell.

What you have is a croinoid stem fossil imprint ...THe piece at the top looks like it is where it is bent into the rock...You can find them all over in the gravels down here...Or in parking lots that are graveled........John

Looks like it could be a piece of quartz sand that worked its way into the hole. Check with a needle, to see if its loose in the hole.
