I couldn't decide whether to post this here or in the Creations section. After thinking it over, I decided that these are not truly two or three dimensional carvings. They are just fancy shaped cabs. This material is a natural quartz infused with copper. The top fish is native silver, the middle fish is also copper infused quartz and the bottom one in Pulsite.

Veeeeeeeeeeeeerrrryyy interesting!!!!!!!! Did you cut these out on a band saw? If not, that's a lot of carving to do. Quite well too I might add. Mike

I cut these on my Gryphon band saw and then used a Foredom to do the work on the inside radius. I finished these by hand. I've never had much luck trying to polish any of the metallic minerals in a vibe tumbler. For anyone interested, you can find the rough at . However, I need to warn you that this material is VERY expensive. I can't find my price list but each 2"x3" slabette is something like $25++. You'll have to call for specific prices. I absolutely love this material. The only way I could afford to have any is the owner of Gold in Quartz wanted one of my gold rutile cabs. So we traded. Take care.

I'm not sure why there is a problem with the link. Try Googling "Goldinquartz" as one term. It shows the same address and a working link in the search results.
Or try calling Onnik Arakelian at 559-285-2764 (the owner) or Ivory Lynd at 907-529-6850.
