so i bought these in a silent auction....what do i do now?? do i cut them?? do i smash them with a hammer?? if i cut them do i cut down the middle or close to an edge?? can anyone tell what i have by looking at the outside of them?? i am really flying blind in the rock hounding area here.....i just bid on them coz the other guy that was bidding on them looked like he knew what he was doing~~ HELP~~

well.......... if you have a saw to cut them, then i would do that. if they are ugly then i smash them with a hammer. lmao. If you tumble you can use all the broken pieces to tumble. I start on one edge and cut toward the middle making slabs all the wall until i can't go anymore. mary ann

Most of them look like they are from the same location. Slab one or two of them to determine their relative quality. Don't start beating on them with a hammer until you are sure of the above. You sure wouldn't want to destroy a good Dryhead by smashing it with a hammer! Bob

they look good from the outside... cut a few and see whats in?U could do a lil to the left or a lil to the right or right down the middle .. thats all up to u ..
