I've been to the Arrowhead mine but didn't do any digging. Matthew Price is the owner and he isn't open every day. Best to call before you go.

We went to dig for Diamonds 2 years ago. I have young children so it wasn't a good fit, although we gave it our best shot. It is hot, dirty, and offers little shade. It is somewhere I would like to visit again when the kids get older. Our backup was digging for crystals in the Mt. Ida area. We considered re-visiting that area this summer but needed to stick closer to home. I couldn't remember which mine we visited other than it had a port-a -potty so I emailed the chamber and this was her reply. "The Mine you visited was Gee and Dee (GW Johnson)" I liked the mine because the owner stayed close for questions and help. He was very friendly and of course the potty was a plus with a mother of 2. There is a cafe on the main strip that is pricey, and another cafe the locals visit that is located in a small strip mall off the main road. It has good food that is reasonable. Have Fun! we went to the diamond mine and mount ida to dig for crystals last summer. There are several mines in mount ida. The diamond mine made for some great rock hounding, we found agates, some jasper. if you are a rock tumbling kind of person the diamond mine is a great place for tumbling. good luck and have fun on your trip.
