So, are you saying that you only went to 600 grit and the rest was done with just borax and soap? Is that a rotary or vibe tumbler?

Hi Charlie
I havent worked much with Flouride there is some 50 miles from here I might go and get some and try it one day
If its soft have you tried a buff with Zam ? I do Malakite cabs on a buff with Zam and they come out perfect
Amyk This is just a experiment & a few photos showing the burnishing stage (48 hours ) to show the difference Burnishing makes over a 48 hour period
A lot of people dont give time for the rocks to burnish properley and then say burnishing dosent work
I took the Mookite out as it was realy polished and I wanted to check it against another Mookite piece,
I have the rest in of the batch in 1000G pre polish now , to be followed by the polishing stage
And yes this is just after 220 G, 400 G , 600 Grits & Burnishing
Im just sorry the 2nd photo and 3rd dont show the shine comming on properley

Great experiment and presentation Jack!!!
What you've done in your vibe in 48 hours would take a LOT longer in a rotary for sure!
Thanks,,,,
