This is a lizard I came across in Moab 2 weeks ago. It did not move until I almost stepped on it. It held very still so I could get a very nice photo of it.

Very cool and a beauty! That's a Collared Lizard which is an awesome predator that sometimes runs on it's hind legs like a mini-T-rex. Those babies can really bite hard. I picked one up while hunting pet wood at the old Greer's Milky Ranch next to Petrified Forest and that baby bit off a tiny hunk off the edge my thumb and ate it. I had heard they were aggressive but that level of violence was pretty impressive......Mel

As a kid, i learn that if you shoot them wright above the tail ( Lightly ). with a rubber band, like the newspaper had. And a brown paper bag for the hunt. Yes they were loose in the camp ~~~ i wont say where , MOM , though Ruth, my sister had a lot of small surprises
It well pluralize them. just for a few seconds. I`v hunting hundreds this way as a kid.
Save`s on tail lose, they tend to loose tail if garbed to fast, Wright you are about running on two feet, And jumping two feet easily. From boulder to boulder.
A course, I`m talking about the locals lizard we have, ( Oregonian Lizard )
