It's been a 25+ year hiatus for me regarding rock tumbling! Harbor Freight had one dirt cheap (it was pre-opened) and I snatched it up. They also had these funky rocks (I am attaching a picture of one such rock) that they were selling boxes of us for $1.99 (again, they were pre-opened). Unfortunately, however, I have no idea what these rocks are for!!! (Is this a substitute for grit or something?) Any help would be helpful, again I am a major "newb"! Attachments:

I checked their website and that is ceramic polishing media for use in deburring metal parts, for use in vlbe tumblers. It's not made for use with rocks.

If it is ceramic...there is no reason you could not use it for filler if you have a subsized load

If I'm not mistaken, these ceramics have grit embedded throughout.Would not work with rocks.I see they are composed of 49% silicon dioxide and 40% aluminum oxide and afew others.I guess you could use them in the coarse stage, may help grinding a little, but after that I wouldn't
