Hi everybody! ;D I don't do many round cabs as I have a hard time making them even. This one is from the Bishop ranch in Texas. Closed in the 1970's. Thanks for looking Geoff

The best way to make a perfect circle cab is to use a core bit drill. Nice cab!

I’ve been reading this circles are hard stuff for years. What’s the big deal? It’s a line on a rock – cut to the line, that’s all there is to it. Or is that why there’s so many freeforms out there, like when it was tough to color inside the lines? If anything, a circle is the easiest shape to cab. When you’re cutting it out, it’s a uniform curve all the way around, unlike an ellipse with its easy curve and then a tight curve. And when you dome a circle, it’s symmetrical in every direction – again, unlike an ellipse, or a freeform for that matter. Can’t get any easier. [Nice cab, btw, Geoff. I’ll apologize now for the hijack/rant. ;D ]

Awesome cab Geoff!
Crap! Now Rich has depressed me as I have a heck of a hard time making a perfect circle cab when he says it's so easy. I hate doing circles!.....Mel

Mel – I know it’s easy for the eye to pick up imperfections in a circle.
I’d say the same goes for ellipses or ovals too, but you never see anyone saying ovals are so hard to do.

Thanks so much everybody! ;D
I think it's fairly easy to get the pre-form round but I guess they are harder for me because I don't mark the sides and just cut by eye. I think I have cut maybe 20 in the last 4 years. I need to do more and maybe start marking the sides for the bezel edges.
