That is beautiful! What grind do you start your opals on to shape them? Fran

Oh, man, Wild Bill, that is an extreme beauty!! And just think, if that were a huge stone, you'd be super rich, and wouldn't cab anymore because you'd be too busy living the high life! Best keep ones that good on the small side Tony

Lookin' real killer there Bill. The last pic is just awesome! At close-up it looks like the sky is on fire behind an electric mountain range with lava down below! Nice! Take care, -Chris.

Thanks friends for your appreciative comments, Fran on small opals I start on a soft 320 disc, if I have a lot to shape then I use220. This stone is only a thin line of color so I don't want to grind too fast. Bill

Good day mate, Bill you need to put up a disclosure to wear eye protection because the fire is so intense. Dam when I opened this thread it set off my fire alarm in the house and my dog got scared and pissed on the floor. LOL I always loved the beautiful Black Opal from your country. Great job Bill, I think I am going to get some opal to work. Stu

That is some awesome fire Bill. I know what you're saying about the thin layer, we have a bunch of Spencer ID opal rough and I ruined a few of the first pieces. Like they say, get too close to the fire and get burned. Lee
