Have a issue with Labradorite wont take a shine. Went through all stages and no contamination in the polish. Don,t know if i should go back into the 500 grit to try again. unless someone else could give me better advice. Thanks in advanced

The Rock Shed suggests 1000 grit AO between the pre-polish and the polish stages for lab and other softer stones. I've even read of using 1500 grit SiC between the pre-polsh and polish stages for some stones.

A lot depends on the quility of the rock as well
I have tried to get a good shine on some low grade stuff and end up with a dull sample ful of cracks , when dry, but when wet it looks fantastic
