Went ahead and croped the photo down, and uploaded it straight to the board so it can be made bigger! ~Colt Attachments:

Color saturation doesn't look that great. You sure they are garnets?

I have another thread about them, and many think they are not garnets.

Colt,
I can see now that perhaps that isn't a crystal point on the left. Or maybe it is. Did any of those pieces show any actual crystal faces, or was it all just rough? Without any remnant of a crystal form it is hard to say what they are. Maybe you didn't ask, but if the vendor was unable or unwilling to say which kind of green garnet they were, and where they came from, then I'd question whether they were even garnets, but then I'm a skeptic. I was thinking that they might even be prasiolite - amethyst that has been heat treated.

They are the same color and translucency as some aquamarine I just cut up--but who knows?

I've got some green garnets, they don't look anything like those. Those are much cleaner/prettier than what I have, mine are darker and not very translucent at all.
