This slab was donated to our club's raffle. I know it's some kind of jasper, but what kind? Thanks for your help!

Thank you all for your suggestions! When my husband won it, I wondered if it could be Bruneau, but a respected "old timer" in our club said he didn't think so. He thought he knew what it was, but could not pull up the name.
I'll post pictures once I've cabbed it.

Hey, two years later, I've got a cab that I am happy with. Only had to redo it a couple times, LOL! Did a test post, then deleted it. You were right, Mike, It didn't show as new.

Scott, this was my first post. (It's actually just under two years old.) I just went back in Rock ID to the date I joined. Simple, no?
Now you can see how bad a procrastinator I truly am, LOL! Have you ever worked on one project for such a long time?
The other reason I edited this was to replace a photo that was no longer there (the first one, it was an attachment that has since been deleted), and to try out a theory about posting and deleting on an old thread. Didn't work the way I thought it might.

Clearly I suck at math! I think this looks more like douglas fir than a stone. Like a piece of board to make a shelf.

Yes, you suck at math! The part with the red made the most interesting cab. The rest is kinda like pink board - yeah, like you said!
