I like them too! Great shine, especially the Scenic Jasper hand shot, and the Pokemon. Kids have a good eye.

OK, so I googled images of Muck...and I can see the resemblance, but clearly he is the grandchild of the TMNTs
Beautiful cabs, and thanks for the heat treatment link as well.

I too vote for TMNT. The cab looks well made. I remember trying to heat treat some tiger slab when I was a kid, and the recipe will indeed work. I think TE comes in varying grades. Some of it will lose fibers no matter how careful you are. Other, such as this piece, are nice and solid.

I also had an interest in heating tiger eye, and remember finding instructions somewhere, but just haven't gotten around to it yet. I did another Google search just now and came up with instructions that are repeated word-for-word in at least 3 other locations on the Internet, including the eBay instructions cited by Krystee. None give credit to the author of the article about Tiger's Eye in this 2006 newsletter of the THE ARK-LA-TEX GEM AND MINERAL SOCIETY: larockclub.com/rockrattler/pdf/2006-11.pdf. Of course I don't know that he didn't plagiarize the instructions himself, but this seems like a more likely source, certainly a more credible source at least. I found no other instructions than these.
