on Sunday , we had some friends over for dinner . their 12 year old son likes to collect rocks . his Dad said he has a shoebox full from Canada . he brought them to show me . along with a Lortone 33b that he wanted to give me . because he did not know how to use it . i looked through his rocks . sadly none were worth tumbling . i know because i have tried before . though i told him that he could still collect them . as he told me , i could have his tumbler .
i said NO . but he was going to use it . so i showed them both step by step what to do . loaded both barrels with precut slablets and other easy to shapes rocks that are almost guaranteed to sparkle , real quality pieces .
i went over tumbler to make sure belt & barings were good . preloaded with rocks water and grit . measured out various grits & polish and put each in its own ziploc bag . and said how long for each stage .
they were very Happy with their new hobby . i also sent a bunch of finished pieces , too.
i am sure that i'll get progress reports , as they go .

WoW that's very cool of you. You never know what your kindness will produce in him later in life.

Way to go, Paul. Two more doomed souls to feed the addiction...
