Doesn't Clear Creek plasma come from a place that also has cinnebar?
Don't lick it....especially the red stuff!

I would worry more about the asbestos that might be on or in the material. The Clear Creek area is noted for it; so much so that I believe the collecting site has been closed down because of the asbestos. Bob

Is that white crust hard or soft? If it's soft and fibrous I would worry about asbestos, but if it's not friable you should be fine.

That is agate, right? It's not altogether unlike serpentine, at least in the photos. I think you would definitely need to be concerned about asbestos if it was serpentine, but I assume you know it's some species of chalcedony, whatever it's specific name might be.
