Just finished final rinse on pre-polish on a big load in my UV-10. stopped to show husband my favorite stone in the bunch and dropped that sucker on the tile floor and took an ugly chunk out of it. grrrr. Moral of the story: pre-polished stones are very slippery and chip very easily. Be careful with your beauties!

aww! I've had similar disasters. nothing hurts more than spending 20 hours on a carving just to have it slip out of your fingers after putting on the final polish and having it shatter into a bazillion pieces....;(

Yep, it's always the best pieces that seem to jump out of our hands. Jean, bring it with you the next time you come over and we can grind the chip out of it and polish on the Genie.

Oh, that makes me cringe because I know the "That did NOT just happen!!!" feeling. I've also had some fly across the room while cabbing and either broke in pieces or became MIA... has almost brought me to tears sometimes

To Randy, you are very generous. Thank you. Good to hear that I am not the only slippery-handed rock fool.

Awww Jean, sorry to hear, yep, everyone gets the buttery fingers. After a few hours of cutting rocks, I seem to drop lots of things. Lost a couple of favorite coffee mugs that way. Smile... You and Randy can fix it good as new! Jo

Murphy's law. If the toast hits the floor, it is always jam side down. Same with the rocks. There is never a way to salvage them, right? Once a stone breaks, even if I reshape it, it is always ruined to me.
