I recently just purchased a two barrel 33 b lortone.
When it runs, both barrels go to the right, towards the motor. It doesn't seem to be doing anything to the speed. The little nylon washer though is getting sanded down though.
Is this something to worry about? Does anybody have any experience with this?

Not a big deal, you can put a shim, say a piece of cardboard or something under the unit at that end and they should migrate to the other end...

You mean they sort of walk towards one end or the other? Turn it around and see which way they move. Use a level and shims, as you just heard, and try to make the whole unit level. Lastly, and I don't even know why, sometimes it just stops happening. I've wondered if there was a section on one of the rollers that was "sticky" -- something causing it to drag in one direction or another. Maybe make sure the rollers and barrels are clean?

Hmmm. Ok. After looking at it for a bit I thought maybe it was suppose to do that. Only one side has a screw where you can take the nylon ring off and replace it. The other side you can't. Then I seen a youtube video, it was short but the barrel didn't seem like it was moving.

No it's not supposed to move, and mine don't now, but I suppose if you can't make it stop doing that, the idea is to have it walk towards the end with the nylon washer that can be replaced. At the ends of the rollers, where the black plastic piece pops into the hole in the frame, make sure one of them isn't crooked, or have something making it cockeyed, causing it's roller to be slanted towards the end that it's walking towards. (I tried all these ideas on mine)

I applaud anyone who is able to completely stop the barrels from moving left or right...I cannot create the right balance

I just tried to level it out again. One went to the right and one went to the left. Now is that right? Or are they suppose to stay right in the middle?

Ok, because I'm a freak. I called Lortone and asked. (The lady was really nice and friendly)I asked where the barrels have to be on the rollers. She said basically anyplace as long as when they go to either end that the nut doesn't ware down and it's metal on metal.
So ya. The dirty work is done.

As I said earlier, mine stay in the middle and don't move anymore, and I don't really know why. I'm not going to try to figure it out either for fear that they'll start walking again if I disturb it too much.

Oh ok. Maybe mine will move to the middle someday. Then I'll freak out again lol.
Thanks for the help Daniel. I went through the check list you gave me, and it really helped me in taking a closer look at the machine. I never did take a good look at the machine before. I'm going to have to ask you to send me some of you tumbling luck so my barrels finally move to the middle.

The stupid little 33 B strikes again!!! This time...the pulley wouldn't catch all the time to move the rod. So I took it all apart and moved the motor all the way to the right to make it tighter. Now, I hope this won't break it, but I will see what happens. Over the last while I noticed it was starting to slow down, probably the loose belt too? Well it's going pretty fast now and sounding a bit different, but I don't know..maybe it's suppose to have that sound too.
Any thoughts?

I had been having trouble with one of my 12lb Lortones for the first time.It just wouldnt turn the barrel anymore. I put new belts on and still wouldnt. I took the motor off and used a drill bit to grind the motor mount holes just a fraction to give the belt more tension as the motor is further out.Working just fine now.I figure over a couple years there is just enough wear and smoothing of the pulleys to create this problem. Was your tumbler new or used? snuffy
