I got a VERY cool gift slab in the mail from Susan (Susand24224). She threw it in with a bunch of awesome local opal that she collected (OMG you guys are going to be floored when this stuff gets worked up... amazing!). She didn't know what this was but thinks it came from Idaho... Could you please ID this pretty purple thing for me? Here's the slab: Here is another pic with a gorgeous Burro Creek above it that I got from Rodney. There are similar shades of purple. I know that someone here will recognize it immediately, thanks!!!

Here's some more info. on that little purple slab. It is a deep purple, like dark amethyst, but it definitely isn't amethyst. The purple is opaque, but in the other two slabs I bought there is also yellow, which is translucent.
I bought it from an Idaho seller in a bin with a bunch of slabs of local stuff. My guess is an agate, but I'm certainly not sure.

Unfortunately, my screen is showing it more as blue/gray than purple. Jo

Photo's are always different than holding it in your hand, but it could be a variety of Amethyst Sage Agate. I have seen this material is all sorts of patterns.

Yes, looking at the photos again, I did not do a very good job capturing the purple. Especially with the burro creek which is a very deep purple. I will retake the photos today outside and see if I can get a better one!

That is Snake River Agate, no doubt about it.

Krystee, that's exactly what we needed--a primo rock seller from Idaho!
Thanks very much, Tony.
