Hello,
Is it possible to use a vibrating lap as a vibrating tumbler? Maybe by putting a closed container on top of the vibrating lap and maybe on top of a pad as well?
Specifically, I have a 16" Covington vibrating lap.
Any input would be appreciated.
:-) Dave

I think it would be possible, but you'd have to center the container in your lap plate and find a way to fasten it to the plate so it can't move around. That being said, I think you'd be time and trouble ahead by buying a vibrating tumbler.

What Don said. If you had a bowl (has to be rounded for rocks to rotate) it would be free to try. Gy-Roc model A has an accessory vibe lap pan available that mounts on top of bowl to flat lap while tumbling so motion has to be the same.
