I've seen them with a similar outer crust from the geode beds around Wiley Wells, but won't swear that yours is from there.

I have seen tons of Thundereggs in my life - but this one is odd. I agree the matrix rings a bell, however the interior is wild looking. I agree though, to me it looks California-ish in origin.
Nice stone - Is that the only one? or you have more?

Now that I think of it, I have some smaller eggs and geodes from the Potato Patch ( Wiley Wells area ) That look just like that on the outside.

They come from outa the ground man Yeah, but what ground?? Heh.. Thanks fellas, I'm gonna consider this a California, possibly Wiley Wells, T-Egg. Jason this was a random onesie I pulled out of a mixed bin at the local rock shop.
