I have been thinking of asking Santa for vibe tumbler for Christmas, and I was just wondering how loud one is compared to a rotary tumbler? Maybe compared to the lortone 33b that I already have if anyone can be that specific.
I was looking at the raytech TV-5 in the Kingsley North catalog in particular is it any good or should I be looking at something else?
Thanks for any help

Highly variable, definitely louder than th 33b. My Lot-O is quiet enough that I don't worry about bothering the neighbors. My UV-10 is loud enough that the neighbors could hear it from their yard - I'm going to experiment with putting it on a rubber mat or building somesort of sound insulated well ventilated partial enclosure.

Diamond Pacific catalog page 63:
"The TV 5 should not be used for continuous commercial duty"
They are pretty light duty. I sell them but recommend Gy-Roc as a better built unit. If you can convince Santa go for Gy-Roc, Lotto or Thumler's Industrial. You will be glad in the long run.

Thanks for the advice everyone, I'll have to do a little more research still but it sounds like The TV-5 is a little light. Guess that explains the price.

I've only had mini sonics and UV-10 tumblers. Both are pretty noisy. Can hear the UV-10 through he shop walls and the mini is worse still.....Mel

Greetings "Saskrock", the Lotto is the quietest in either 4.5lb or dual (9lb), the Raytech TV5 (3lb) and UV Industrial (10lb, 18lb, 45lb) have plastic bowls, the Gyrock has a rubber bowl and is upgradable and my Viking Virbro Sonic (Diamond Pacific) is the noisest with 2x 6lb or 1x 14lb cast aluminium hoppers with a rubberised plastic liners. -- I hail from (The Barony of Seabegs) Bonnybridge, Stirlingshire, U.K, where aliens (15mb) sometimes come for a visit & about 4 miles west from this monstrosity!
