All polish is not equal. Top quality polish compounds like cerium, tin oxide, and micro aluminum (.3-.5 micron) 2 teaspoons will work in a 3 lb. drum. The less expensive polishes like CPP take more. Low price is not always the cheapest way to go. Some suppliers advise too much also. Not sure if it is to sell more or just not knowledgeable.

I use 2. I new and 1 old (stuff I save from previous polish runs). A little seems to go a LOOOOOONNNNNGGGGG WAY!

i splurge and use 1 tbsp of ao1000, tripoli and polish in my 3#. last batch i got out this week was beautiful. i am now doing tumbling in 50/90, then 120/200 and ao500 in the lot-o vibe and then tumbling for the polish. i might try doing ao1000 and tripoli in the vibe and then going to the tumbler for the final polish. charlie

Wish I sell Lot-O drums. 60/90 will shorten vibe tumbler drum lifespans considerably.
