I came across this listing for a huge estate sale of a 90 year old couples rock and lapidary tools. It was fun just to look through the 100 pictures of the rocks and equipment this couple had. tempted to go just to see what kind of prices the estate sale company puts on this stuff. I have never seen so much at one place before. This is in Michigan by the way. lawsonsliquidations.com/estate-sale-listings/

Man, that is quite the collection. Kind of sad, looking at all the slabs and rough they never got around to working on. Looks like they paid top dollar for some of that stuff.

Quite the collection. Kinda sad that they didn't have family members who wanted to keep the materials. I bet there are/were stories around much of those items.

I sent the link to a friend who lives about an hour from there. Thanks for the post! Hopefully, he'll share some of the spoils with me if he goes!

It's a good thing I don't live closer, I'd spend all of my money and tick off my wife. A huge Laguna for $30? $25 for big Lakers?
I think I'd just pull a Tony and ask them what they wanted for the lot.

I am so curious to know how they priced this stuff.I think any prices shown in the pictures could just be what the guy paid for them way back. would love to go tomorrow just to check it out but not sure how much will be left on the last day and its a 1 1/2 hr drive. Had to be a lot of work just to put a value on all that stuff. Chuck

I went....twice. Drove 2.5 hours each way so 10 hrs in a car combined. I'd do it tomorrow if there was anything left. I came back today only because the already incredible prices were down to insane prices. I'll post pictures and prices hopefully tomorrow. I couldn't believe the quantity of rocks on Saturday. Whoever was able to be there on Friday got some incredible deals on stuff that hadn't seen the light for 60 years. I've only been in this hobby for a year but I doubt I'll ever see anything like this again...and that is even with me seeing it on the second day of the sale. Imagine a basement and three outbuildings filled with nothing but slabs, rough, findings, equipment, and top shelf collector slabs from the floors to the ceilings. I also got the story from the son of the husband and wife team. I only wish I could have watched them work...true craftsmen! Details to follow. Scott
