If you haven't had an chance to check out Helen's website, take a few minutes as you're missing out! She's got some beautiful glass art work up there: www.azenglass.com/I'm lucky enough to be a recipient of a few of her works of art. Thank you, Helen! I gave this one to my wife for Valentine's Day. Yes, I know it's early but a.) I couldn't wait, I thought it was such a cool piece and b.) we were having a Valentine's Day dinner with some friends from Church and I didn't want to pass up the opportunity to give the pendant to her at dinner. I love how the colors change depending upon the angle. Love the swirls on this. Absolutely, eye catching! Cool marble - I'm always looking at it from different angles as the interior colors seem to change. These are great pieces, Helen. Thank you so much! Barbara loved the heart! Paul

You are so nice Paul!!!
After I got Paul's box, I decided to send him a few extra pieces for his wife and kids too (because they helped pick the rocks)! Also, Paul originally wanted the flower I sent Donnie... so I sent him the heart for his wife because it was similar to that piece. (Donnie's pix are coming soon too, I've been like a kid in a candy store this past week:P)
I just wanted Paul's kids and wife to feel like they got something out of rockhunting with Paul too, so he'll want to post more pix rock hunting for everyone to enjoy:). That, and I really loved the rocks he sent!!

You know, I was going to let this thread drop down, because I'm so unimportant on this forum, and it's a little bit embarassing to cause threads not related to rocks:P. But I had to take the opportunity to say that I totally admire what YOU guys do.
Rockhounds find the coolest rocks that nature hid for millions of years, and you have to have an eye for that something different in a sea of similar stuff, looking for glints, grains and patterns against the sun's glare in terrible heat or cold or digging in either hard or loose dirt, dodging insects, probably scorpions and snakes, in some of the most unyielding land on the planet. Cutters who make slabs have real skill too, to find the 'pretty' spots that will yield a great specimen or spots to cab from. Carvers... yesh, to see something that is just not there, and having the skill to reveal it so that others can see it too. Cabbers who find the best spots in a slab, a spot that tells a story, and work and work at it til it's perfect and shiny. Jewelry makers, knife makers, some of the people here are artists, no less than painters, sculptors who work in other media. Even tumbling is an art and skill, to recognize when a rock is 'done' and knowing how to get it to that mirror polish. It's just amazing to me, and a priviledge to get to share in some of the adventures and methods of the people on this forum.
Now I'm going to shut up and take it to PM's. Thanks so much guys, but you really need to appreciate how much I admire what YOU guys do!!
