Hi everyone, My wife collects crystals and different specimens for metaphysical purposes. Yea she is into the hokus pokus stuff so I had better be careful or she might put a spell on me.LOL Anyway she was showing me a really interesting stone formation with a natuarlly formed cross in it. Seeing it made me remember that I had a nice slab of Polish Flint with a reslly cool cross/star pattern. She tried to lay claaim to it when I showed it to her but was happy with the promis of a nice cab with a star/cross in it instead. Give her credit for trying LOL Thought you all might like to see it. That is a particularly nice piece of polish flint Stu! Great definition in those bands.

Another phenomenal slab!!! Boy do you have a collection of beauties!!! Honestly, I could not bring myself to cut that slab up...
Would she be happy if you framed it at an angle so the cross is upright, for the wall? That's a cross as God made it no?
Another consideration is that crack that happens to run right through the cross part... if you cut that magnificent slab, then the preform cracks at the cross part... that might be a huge risk.

On second thought (just saw the pictures on the computer now instead of I-phone): This piece is too beautiful to be cut into pieces. I think it should be kept as a display-piece.
Then you don't have to deal with the cracks and don't go nuts over how to cut it. Polish flint is a crazy thing, I have some, but rarely cut into it as I can't make up my mind as to how. Every-time I mark something, I see something else that seems better. LOLOL It's a crazy stone to work on.

Hi Helen and Curt, Thanks for your suggestions. I know what you mean about the crazy patterns. I think this stone is far more crazy than Crazy Lace. They should have named it Polish Crazy Flint. LOL In the picture what looks to be a crack actually in person looks more like a scratch on the surface of the stone. Though I think if I were to cut it, as a precaution, I would stabilize that area. Yes Helen it would definitely be a prime candidate for a shadow box. Stu

Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There is no way I would ask you to cut that one into thirds even if I was promised a part of it. It looks like a photo of terraced fields in China. Please please do not cut it. You could give it to me in one piece though. lol Jim
