got some rocks from my friend in grass valley and put them into the vibe. think they are mohs 7. i start with rounded tablespoon of 120/220 and found i have to check them regularly. they will go overnight but move very slowly in the morning and need a couple of spritz of water from the spray bottle. by one day they are barely moving. i have left them vibrate for two days in the past but since they were covered in black, not dry but thick stuff i decided to wash them and vibrate them again in the 120/220. did a half a wash on them, liquid soap, fill with water, vibrate for two hours and just fill the bowl with water and dump five or sx times and don't take the rocks out. just put another rounded tbsp of 120/200 or 220 graded for the final first and run another day. i did take the stones out at one wash and removed those that did not need more grinding and then put other stones in to fill up. i am using ceramic filler to have smaller stones to help the process but am really considering using large gravel in the first stage. learning never ends in this process. charlie

Sounds like you're getting it figured out. I have mine going in 220 for around 5 days now, then 5 in 400, 2 in 600, 2 in pre polish, and 3-5 in SnO. I rough everything in 46-70 in my 12 pounder for a month first.

Are you going longer with the stages because of the hardness?
