I went and looked at a couple of rock piles for sale today. 2 of them were kind of duds but the last one I looked at was a killer score! I brought home a little of it but will have to go back and get the rest. Just today in what little I brought home I have found a 10 lb chunk of Morrisonite, about a 5 gal bucket full of Bruneau, several hundred pounds of Misty Mountain agate, Graveyard Point plume, some really really pretty petrified wood, and still have several bags to go through. Here is what I brought home tonight Misty Mountain I couldn't wait to get the Morrisonite on the saw, here is the first cut I have a few more loads to go get and will keep you updated as it goes along. This one has me really excited. Tony

Hi Tony:). LOTS of rocks!!! You know rocks, so that's good, because I can't tell the difference from the outside:P.
But... that last piece is Morrisonite?! I always thought that Morrisonite is the picture rock with one of the biggest variety of colors:).

Yes a very unusual piece of Morrisonite. Curious to see if it is the same all the way through or if it changes as it gets farther in.

Like a lot of others, I would like to know your secret on how you come across these rock hoards.

Woody, I put camo on and use my night vision goggles and creep around peoples yards and alleyways at night. If I find a good one I go back the next day and see if they want to sell any rocks.
But seriously now, most of these come to me. This latest one the guy came to my place a couple of weeks ago to buy some rocks and said that he liked my pile because you couldn't go buy rocks in person anymore because all the rock shops have disappeared. Then he told me to come check out his pile, because he thought I might be interested in adding it to mine and he wanted to clean up his yard a bit. Super nice guy and I was privileged to have gotten acquainted with him.

Whats the green rock you have in front there??? Looks cool....... That is a piece of Chrysacolla from Nevada, the owner wants a slice out of it for his collection so I brought it home to cut for him. Tony

You are one lucky rockhound. Maybe I need to put more of my rocks out in a pile to try to attract some more.

Ok... this is bugging me, so I have to ask.. HOW do you know that's Morrisonite?! I mean the guy said it was morrisonite, but what if he remembered wrong? Is there a way to tell that's morrisonite without looking at colors and patterns??
