I just got some new material from a local dealer I met through The Athens Rock and Gem Club I joined not too long ago. I can't over empahasize the benefits of joining a club! Anyway, amongst the material I purchased was some material from an estate sale he had and some of the pieces he was not sure of the id. So, I am asking for any help ya'll can provide. Thanks very much in advance! 1. This one looks like a banded jasper, I think. This photo is of a side that had been polished some: 2. I am pretty sure this is corprolite; The cut side: And the rough side: 3. The next ones are a couple of small slabs, one photo will be dry, one wet: 4. Lastly, this one: I also got my hands on some nice ammolite which I will be making triplets of, will post pics of them soon! Thanks; Mike

Hey Mike, Great stones - I do know however #2 is not a Coprolite. That's actually a Thunderegg and cannot be certain without looking at it closely, but it looks like a Butterfly Wing Egg from Mexico. #1 does look like some sort of various Jasper... #4 appears to be a Malachite (green) along with some Azurite (blue) mixed in. Also #3 looks to be some sort of Copper material mixed with Azurite and Cuprite? Great score

I second what rockhound said. Pretty sure 2 is Butterfly Wing.

My thought on #2 is a dud thunder egg. One without any of the nice thunder egg characteristics inside.
