Two new pipelines to move 850,000 barrels per day from Canada to the Gulf are in the works. The two companies proposing the pipes are Enterprise Energy and Enbridge Inc (one from Canada and the other a US based company). This, of course, would be competition in the free market for TransCanadas Keystone pipeline.
They would not face as many hurdles as keystone because the cross- border parts of the pipeline already exist
That does not mean that environmental and other groups will give the proposed pipelines a free pass. It is thought that crude from tar sands are more corrosive than other forms of crude and (if that is true) make pipelines more likely to leak. (Enbridge's pipeline was responsible for the often cited leak into the Kalamazoo River in Michigan).
The US Dept Of Transportation is studying whether the crude from tar sands is, in fact, more corrosive with results expected within about a year.

Never heard of them. Where are the starting points? Better tell your hollywood hacks to keep out of it. Or Cennovus might just ship California's oil to China again. No one noticed that did they. That first shipment to china was to go to California. And where is hollywood?

Do I need to go through this again. Enbridge did not build that pipeline. They bought it. It was built by a US company 30 + years ago. Maybe instead of fighting new lines. They should bring in laws on pipeline age limits.
