We have quite a few varieties from around here that fluoresce and most of them seem to be pretty close to natural hot springs, so I think that has something to do with those varieties. It is really relatively common, just very few people check for fluorescence. Do you know where it came from?
Have a great day............Tony

It's impressive how much material actually glows under short wave lights. Many of the Oregon Thundereggs have green traces caused by uranium traces within (at least what I read). Some of the exteriors of petrified woods are also phosflourescent which means they glow in the dark for a few seconds when the UV light is turned off. The UV light is a interesting little toy. I always forget about using it on all the new material I polish... Just one of those things!
