Jason, I'd be willing to bet the first 2 pics are Californite. (Massive Vesuvianite). Some times called California Jade, but not related to jade at all.

Jason, there is one other possibility that comes to mind. Massive grossular garnet. I have a hunk in the garage that a Washington friend gave to me a couple years back. Gonna cube it for a sphere in the next couple of weeks.
Have you tried passing a metal detector over that piece ? If it is Californite, that material was found near the California gold fields. You never know what might be deeper inside.
