I agree about specimens, there are several I am keeping for that and a few that I might not cut just because they are so very cool looking but know whats inside is so much better, so keeping the unknown / known within reach. Prolly doesn't make sense but it does to me.

An example is your first pic. White Plume on Black plume. I have a couple like that one and won't cut most because of the natural beauty and knowing what lies inside. When I say with in reach I mean that, laying near my computer.

I know exactly what you mean, Mark! They're amazing just the way they are; I've got some smaller ones that I will cut, but I think I'll leave the big one alone. I've had that one near at hand since we got back!
Jeri: I guess I just included the gas mileage in the overall cost of the trip and tried not to think about it!

I've had to take a break from cabbing because we're remodeling our basement and have temporarily lost both time and space. I'll post things that I think look interesting. Probably slabs first and maybe cabs.
