This, I believe, is the tiniest cab I have ever done! It didn't start out this way, in fact it was double the size and I got it all the way to polish when it broke loose, flew across the room and broke in half.... don't you hate it when that happens? Oh well, salvaged what I could! I know absolutely nothing about this material, had never even heard of it before until I got it. It is the most pretty BLUE!!! It is the night sky and deeper than the ocean... gorgeous stuff! That being said, it's quite persnickety on working it. I've got some things figured out but not the whole package yet. I discovered that it likes heat during polish. As far as the other stages, I got a good finish but nothing to write home about. I have to figure out the best method to not have teeny tiny pits pull out during grinding. Argh, that frustrates me! I have a few more pieces of this though and I will get it flawless, promise!!! Check out this cute little thing!

Still looks great, nothing much to worry about.
Love the strong color.
Tiny you say? My current project needs a slightly carved pietersite smaller than my small fingernail. LOL Having fits with it since yesterday, as I'm to lazy to top. ROFLOL

It's so cute, and what a great color Krystee!!! At that small a size, you can't see any little pits anyway, and it's mottled, which would hide a lot:).

Sweet little cab Krystee. Would it help if you did your grinding on a finer grit. Takes longer but may be worth it. Some of the stones that I have ground with a 50 grit were really tough to clean up with the 100 grit but If I ground with the 100 or 200 grit I did not end up going back and reworking. Not sure if it was the same problem as what you are having. Jim

Maybe in the world of cabbing that is small, but it's not really that small for a mounted stone. Awesome color. Great job.

Absolutely love it. Great job. I like the smaller stones. Some of the cabs just seem to big to wear.

Thank you everyone!
This material is really beautiful but not seeing a mirror finish on it is driving me crazy! I've decided to treat the pitting with Hxtal and then go back to 1200 and redo. I'll re-post the cab in a couple of weeks!
Jim, I preformed with a 180 and shaped on a 325. Unfortunately I think this is one of those materials that needs a bit of stabilizing to help it along....
